Introduction | The MOE Taiwan Scholarship continues to encourage outstanding students to pursue academic degrees in Taiwan and to deepen their understanding of Taiwan's academic environment, thereby enhancing exchanges and building friendships between Taiwan and their home nations. | The MOFA Taiwan Scholarship continues to encourage outstanding students to pursue academic degrees in Taiwan and to deepen their understanding of Taiwan's academic environment, thereby enhancing exchanges and building friendships between Taiwan and their home nations. The MOFA Taiwan Scholarship is, in principle, granted to students from countries that have diplomatic relations with Taiwan. However, special consideration may also be given to students from other countries. |
The scholarship scheme is an initiative by university to welcome international students to pursue their studies in the NTUA, and to promote the school internationalization and prestige through building international school-learning environment. All guidelines are set following the fund management rules by the Ministry of Education for tertiary schools admitting international students. |
Financial assistance | 1. Waiver of tuition and certain fees. A monthly stipend of NT$20,000 for postgraduate students.
2. Duration. Master's program: two years maximum.
Maximum duration for any combination of programs under this scholarship: five years.

1. Scholarship recipients will be given a monthly stipend of NT$30,000 for degree programs. Recipients are responsible for all expenses during their stay in Taiwan. MOFA will not provide any other subsidies. MOFA will, however, provide recipients with one-way, economy-class plane tickets for direct flights to and from Taiwan.
2. Duration. Master’s program: two years maximum.

Eligibility |
Each applicant shall:
1. possess a high school diploma or higher; have performed well at his/her most recent academic institution and be of good moral character.
2. be neither a Taiwanese national, nor an overseas Taiwanese compatriot.
3. have never enrolled in an educational institution in Taiwan for the same level of degree as the current application.
4. not be an exchange student through an academic cooperation agreement between an overseas university/college and an educational institute in Taiwan.
5. have no record for being revoked a MOE Scholarship program or other government-sponsored scholarship. Recipients cannot accept any other R.O.C. government-sponsored scholarships or subsidies concurrently with this scholarship.

1. Is a high school graduate or above with an excellent academic record, of good moral character and has no criminal record.
2. Is not a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
3. Is not an overseas compatriot student.
4. Has never attended an educational institution in Taiwan at the same level of degree or LEP that he/she intends to apply for.
5. Is not an exchange student through any cooperation agreement between a foreign university/college and an educational institute in Taiwan while receiving the Scholarship.
6. Has not previously had a Scholarship revoked by an ROC government agency or other relevant institution.

1. Applicants must not be citizen of Republic of Taiwan. Applicants must be admitted foreign students of NTUA who have completed the first semester courses in the first academic year (not including students with extended graduation).
2. Applicants must take at least 6 credits every semester and achieve at least 80 for average of academic result, 80 for conduct, and have no records of violation of school rules.
3. Students who have already rewarded with Taiwan Scholarship from Taiwan Government or other agencies are not qualified for application.
